The week of 27th March saw four Dundee students moot (argue a case) before Lord Hodge at the Supreme Court in the final of the Dundee Mooting Championship. One of them is Jamie (on the RHS), the son of Dr Bruce Durie – Shennachie to the Durie Chief and the DFA.

Friday 25th August – Durie Night at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
Saturday 26th August - A day trip to Fife, visiting historic places with Durie connections.
Sunday 27th August - A day in and around Edinburgh, with more Durie connections.
And also on Friday a chance for personal genealogical research with Bruce to help.

The New Year started well for our searches for Duries around the world. Margaret Morgan Monk, a descendant in Australia of John Durie b. Glasgow 23 March 1855 d. 26 Nov 1937 and his wife Eliza Durie (Young) b. NSW 1 July 1860 d.13 March 1944 made contact sending this old photograph.

A day tour to the Durie Fife heartlands on Saturday 26th August 2017 – the day after the Durie Night at the Tattoo - will cover several links members of the family had with four Scottish Queens: St. Margaret, Queen of Scotland with her links to Dunfermline Abbey, Mary of Guise, Mary Queen of Scots and Anne of Denmark, Queen to James VI of Scotland & I of Great Britain. Come on the tour and discover these intriguing stories!
