bulletThe chevron is one of the "ordinaries" or common charges (designs) used in Heraldry
bulletIt is said to represent the gables of a house and thus protection,
or else the bow of a saddle, indicating a mounted warrior.
bullet It was often awarded for some notable enterprise concerning the person of the monarch.
