While their argument will be an issue in the Telders International Law Moot competition for Jamie (David) Durie and his team mates from Dundee University it is far from "a matter of no importance"!

Dr Bruce Durie elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB) and Chartered Biologist (CBiol).
Dr Bruce Durie, Shennachie to the Durie Family Association and its expert on revealing the mysteries of DNA, has received new accolades. He has been elected a Fellow of the prestigious Royal Society of Biology (FRSB) and also a Chartered Biologist (CBiol).

In May 2019 David Durie – known to us a Jamie, son of the DFA’s Shennachie and genealogy expert Dr Bruce Durie - with fellow students from Dundee University will represent Scotland at the Telders International Law Moot. Telders is Europe's most prestigious legal debating competition, being held in the United Nation's International Court of Justice in The Hague. They will debate, "The Case of the Great Football Match"

Our genial, erudite and expert genealogist Bruce Durie is visiting North America again! Canada and the USA. He will be giving a series of talks at the BIFHSGO (British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa) Family History Conference on 28–30 September 2018 and attending the Highland Games in Laurinburg 6 October.

Rossend Castle, Burntisland, Fife, Scotland, is on the market! Many of the Duries who came for ‘Durie Night’ at the Edinburgh Tattoo last year visited the castle the following day as part of the ‘Duries and Four Queens’ tour – because Mary, Queen of Scots, stayed there quite often.

Just over a year ago, on 25th August 2017, the Durie Family - 70 strong from all over the world - with the Bruce Family and a detachment from the Elgin Regiment of Canada escorting the Great Sword of Robert the Bruce, marched on to Edinburgh Castle’s esplanade to open the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. An amazing and very memorable occasion!
After the public event was over Chief Andrew Durie of Durie presented Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff with a cromach.
