L-R: Daniel Breerton, Evana Ferguson, Jamie (David) Durie, Asa Jordan
In May 2019 David Durie – known to us a Jamie, son of the DFA’s Shennachie and genealogy expert Dr Bruce Durie - with fellow students from Dundee University will represent Scotland at the Telders International Law Moot. Telders is Europe's most prestigious legal debating competition, being held in the United Nation's International Court of Justice in The Hague. They will debate, "The Case of the Great Football Match"
It concerns a football match between two fictional states and will cover areas such as State Responsibility, Ethnic Discrimination, and Diplomatic Immunity. The group are fund-raising for their participation. The full story is at Scottish Legal-Dundee University.
Jamie and his team have to raise money to assist with the cost of: participation in the competition, including accommodation and travel expenses. Anyone who feels generously disposed might care to help.
To Donate: Team Scotland - Telders Moot and/or follow the team on Facebook @lawteldersdundee or on Twitter @TeldersScot2019. More general information on the Moot: ‘Telders Moot’
Jamie is captioned in formal photographs as ‘David Durie’. (All the males in his family are baptised David so each is known by a 'pet' name: Jamie, Bruce, Fido, etc.)
