Dundee University Mooters Jamie Durie and George Dick, finalists in the university’s annual Mooting Championship held at the Supreme Court in London, presented their case before Lord Hodge on 28th March. He handed down his judgement that Durie and Dick were the victors in the Scots property law moot problem

The week of 27th March saw four Dundee students moot (argue a case) before Lord Hodge at the Supreme Court in the final of the Dundee Mooting Championship. One of them is Jamie (on the RHS), the son of Dr Bruce Durie – Shennachie to the Durie Chief and the DFA.

Friday 25th August – Durie Night at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
Saturday 26th August - A day trip to Fife, visiting historic places with Durie connections.
Sunday 27th August - A day in and around Edinburgh, with more Durie connections.
And also on Friday a chance for personal genealogical research with Bruce to help.

The New Year started well for our searches for Duries around the world. Margaret Morgan Monk, a descendant in Australia of John Durie b. Glasgow 23 March 1855 d. 26 Nov 1937 and his wife Eliza Durie (Young) b. NSW 1 July 1860 d.13 March 1944 made contact sending this old photograph.

A day tour to the Durie Fife heartlands on Saturday 26th August 2017 – the day after the Durie Night at the Tattoo - will cover several links members of the family had with four Scottish Queens: St. Margaret, Queen of Scotland with her links to Dunfermline Abbey, Mary of Guise, Mary Queen of Scots and Anne of Denmark, Queen to James VI of Scotland & I of Great Britain.
